The comment about the attitude of your significant other is spot on. I'm sure there are a lot of boomers who for years have gone off to work where someone else had the major decisions to make for the business. And now it's on them to carry the big decisions themselves they should work at ensuring their partner is supportive and maybe negotiating some tradeoffs for that support rather than just expecting it.
