You’ll Probably Ignore This.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’ll get to it on the weekend. I say it. You’ve said it. Our lives are too full of choices and distractions. If you have kids of a certain age just driving them around to cover their choices and distractions can be a full life. But, you have to do this.
You are a responsible adult and mistakes have real consequences. For example, ever forget to pay a charge card bill. I have and I had to pay the interest and late fee. Painful? Yes, but I’ve never done it again.
Now for the big responsibilities. Do you have a will? Do you have a medical power of attorney? Do you have disability insurance? Do you contribute to an IRA or a 401K or a Health Care savings account? If not get on the stick and get it done.
You have to get these things done.
If you understand the principles of financial compounding then you know a dollar saved today is worth hundreds 30 years from now. Let me tell you 30 years goes by fast. If you don’t kow the principles of financial compounding learn today.
Have you paid off the balance on your credit cards? It’s expensive debt. Pay it down. Do you have a budget? Do you know where your money goes? Have you written it down? Do it.
All good and necessary stuff, but you’ll probably ignore it.
