Where are the photos of Baby Boomers?
TV, movies, everywhere you turn, you see photos of kids. No baby boomers. Where are the photos of baby boomers?
i use photos all the time for my posts, and every time I look for anything, I find photos of kids. I’m talking young people in their 20s. Not a baby boomer among them. For example, I was looking for photos of business conversations. All of them are of young people. The only way I can get a photo of a baby boomer is to type in “seniors” – older people. We Baby Boomers aren’t older people. We might be “seniors” but we still need to be represented along with younger people in the photo services.
I use several photo sources – PicApp and StockXpert, for example. All of them are the same. They all show only photos of young people. Someone should include photos of Baby Boomers in photos. Maybe we are the last group to be discriminated against.

I use istockphoto.com from time to time. They have a lot of images in the boomer age bracket. Maybe fewer in business images, though.
I know what you mean and I think it’s more of a serious media perception issue.
If we look healthy, happy and having fun, then we can’t be Baby Boomers?! We’re supposed to wear loud floral prints or rejects from the thrift store; have more wrinkles than a Shar Pei and communicate with a rock and tablet.
Seriously, finding suitable photos of real Baby Boomers has been a problem I too face for my business…so I’m contacting a few photographers to start the ball rolling on the photo sites.
Let’s hope they aren’t burned at the stake for going against how everyone thinks we are supposed to look:)
