Contests
I love contests, and I have lots of them. Here are the rules I usually use:
1. You may enter by commenting on a specific blog post. Unless I specify otherwise, you may comment as many times as you want, as long as each comment is unique and it conforms to the rules for that contest. No “I want to win” comments will be accepted.
2. You must include your email address so I can contact you if you win. I will not share your email address with anyone else.
3. If the contest involves mailing something to the winner, only U.S. and Canadian entries will be accepted. I don’t want to pay the cost of mailing overseas.
4. Unless I specify otherwise, the winner will be determined by using a random number generator. I will enter the number of comments in the RNG and it will, as the name says, generate a bunch of numbers. The first number generated is the number of the comment. If the number is, say, 46 out of 100 comments, I’ll count to 46 and that comment is the winner. If I can’t contact the winner, or the person refuses the prize, I’ll go to the second number, etc.
