The Startup - Diary Post 1
Assumption will get you in trouble. When I was in the US Army I had a Sargent who put it susinctly. “Assumption is the mother of all screw-ups.” He didn’t exactly say that, but this is a family publication.
Used to be it was easy to file for a S or C corporation. Well someone turned it into a business and made it complicated so they could make a buck. I’m going to be a S corp, but I’m going to have to jump through a few more hoops to keep my costs down. I’ll trade time for money.
I’ve got a free website because my son had a business on the side where he does it for some very small retail shops. Mostly tattoo parlors, I think. The downside is that he’s not set up for streaming video right now. So, initially I’ll sell DVDs instead of the streaming video. Well, this is all sort of an experiment and I can do the extra shipping and handling for now. But, we still found a neat way to put lots of video on the site.
Url squatters are a pain. My first pick for the site name was “averagejoesyoga”, but someone reserved that name. My son said, “So what? You name isn’t joe.”
Doors open and doors close. Keep the faith.
