Boomer Business Myth: Satisfied Customers Refer

My experience with reading and reporting on The Story of Edgar Sawtelle reminded me that the saying “Satisfied customers refer” is a myth. Here is why:
People who are satisfied don’t refer unless you ask them to or unless someone else asks:
“What’s a good book you’ve read lately?”
“What dentist would you recommend?”
“What is a good restaurant in town?”

Fantastic Boomer Book – The Story of Edgar Sawtelle

Baby boomer David Wroblewski has written a fantastic book – The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.  It’s the best book I have read in a long, long time.  It is the book I have waiting for since Jane Smiley’s “A Thousand Acres” and it is now in my “top five” list of best books ever.  (Along with A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, and several others.)
If you don’t belive me, how about Stephen King, who says he would read it again.   And Oprah has named it her latest selection in her Book Club.
