While the rest of the world was watching election returns, an interesting case came before the U.S. Supreme Court.  The Supreme Court yesterday heard testimony in a case that could have an impact on our viewing habits.  While we can watch movies on cable that include many expletives and adult language, network television has, for the most part, been the last place where you would expect to hear sexual or bathroom humor. I found what is probably the last interview done with George Carlin, for Psychology Today.  In the article, he talks about the creative process, how he feels like an observer of the human species but not really human himself, how he feels about foul language, and other fascinating subjects.  It’s worth reading in full.

I just heard that George Carlin died over the weekend. That’s very sad. He was a brilliant comedian and an astute observer of human nature, which of course @$^*ed some people off. The video below is a great example of Carlin’s ability to cut through the #### and tell it like it is. (Notice how I can’t bring myself to use those words?)
