Start-Up Diary

There is a very good chance that other people will NOT see your business endeavors the way you do. They simply do not come from the background you have. It is foolish to think that they should. Still, it is frustrating.
As part of my strategy for my start-up, I am trying to keep my cost down by seeking free and low cost help from other quarters. You invariably get remarks such as “You could make a bunch of money from this.” Well, yes, anything is possible, but at this point I just don’t want to loose much.
I find few people understand the concept of risk or the complexity of commerce. If you want to get the cooperation of these people you have to have a strategy to deal with their skepticism. I try to be totally open and honest. Sometimes that works, but I am not surprised when it does not.
