Start-Up Diary – Tapping Community Resources
September 11, 2007 by jim
My start-up web site needs high quality videos to sell as streaming video or DVDs. I tried to shoot my own with very limited success. Because this is a risky start-up I don’t want to put any more resources into it than a possibility can. What other resources can I tap? The local state university has a under graduate and graduate film school. They always need projects. This is a decent one. Maybe they will do it.
I called and asked. They said that they would consider it. I wrote a proposal. Now they are considering it. One of the nice things the university has been known to do is partner-up on start-up ventures. Maybe I can get them to do that which would open up more resources. First, I need to get the video made.
What happens if they turn me down? There are two other schools in town that teach video production. I can tap them.
