Presidential Primary in Wisconsin
I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where we will have a Presidential primary next Tuesday. Outside of the record amount of snow on the ground, I feel positive about the entire primary process to date.
The really good news is that we are not being bombarded by political ads, though pollsters as all over us. McCain has it pretty much sowed up. Hillary is short on money and concentrating in Texas and Pennsylvania. Obama is around, but he doesn’t have to spend much money, because the other s aren’t.
For those who don’t know, the primary in Wisconsin is completely open. You can walk in on election day to register. They give you one ballot with all the candidates on it and you vote for whom ever you choose.
The process makes it interesting for the voters, because there are no party decelerations are involved. You might think that would lead to problems with people from one party voting for the weaker candidate from the other, but that’s not the case. Can’t say it doesn’t happen, but not so you’d notice. Still there is a lot of cross-over voting for the man, and in this case the woman, about whom they feel the most strongly. Give you a good read on how people feel in their gut. Still, they may vote differently in November.
Personally, I think all three of the top runners could be good Presidents. All are bright. All have moderate personalities. None seem to be ideologues. All seem to be pragmatic. Who ever gets in will be driven by the circumstances they must meet as time passes. They all seem capable of the job. Lucky us.

I agree Jim! And I think we’ll have a great turnout on Tuesday. Depending on how much snow we get by then. I don’t know about you, but I’m having trouble finding a place to shovel it to :-)
