Oldest Olympic Competitor Returns after 44 Years
August 10, 2008 by Jean Murray
He’s a little too old (age 67) to be a Baby Boomer, but Olympic athlete Hiroshi Hoketsu has a great story to tell, as he returns to Olympic competition in Beijing after 44 years.
Hoketsu competed in 1964 in dressage, then got busy with work. It was only when he retired that he decided to go back and compete.
I love these inspiring stories of determination, fortitude, and just plain hard work, that surround the Olympics. We see too little of this in our daily lives, and I for one would like to know more people like Hiroshi Hoketsu.
