Napping Your Way To Success
I have been the butt of jokes about my inclination to take the occasional mid-day nap. The occassion being afternoon, though sometimes I do sneak in a bit before noon. Though the greater part of the civilized world partakes of a rejuvinating siesta Puritanical values and Mid-western sensibilities frown upon such a practice because it encourages sloth. Misplaced piety, say I.
Through my own experimentation I have found that a snooze of anywhere from 2o minutes to an hour will revive my senses and imagination, to say nothing of boosting my energy. I find that after a nap I can resume work at a high level of productivity for many hours beyond where others find it necessary to give up for the day. I have watched other grind on fatigued and unproductive, but morally constrained from a reviving doze.
Everyone in my family, with the exception of my father, scoffed. Low and behold, recent scientific studies confirm the validity of my napping practice. Haza for me!
My suggestion and practice are that when tired by mental exertion I take a nap. I have from time to time turned to exercise, caffeine and sugar to stave off a dearth of energy, but have found a nice nap to have better and more long lasting results.
With that, I believe I will jump in the sack for forty winks, because everyone has to believe in something.
