Marketing YOUrself - Business Marketing Strategy

On my blog, Tough Questions? Great Answers! I created a new term, sort of…. Anyway, the new term is Marketing YOUrself, which is read Marketing You Yourself. For some reason, I thought I would focus on marketing over the next few days here at Small Business Boomers. Whether you are marketing you, yourself or you are marketing your business, yourself, marketing is critical to the success of your business.

Marketing is sales, and yet it is more than sales. Marketing is also about creating a compelling strategy that literally pulls in consumers to buy. From my perspective it is your responsibility as a business owner/entrepreneur to ensure that your business has a strong marketing strategy.

What does that mean? First it means you need to have a strategy with a plan embedded, that has very clear goals and objectives that you will implement.

Donald Trump says, “You have to be able to pinpoint your market and if you don’t …. you won’t be successful.”

Your plan should help you pinpoint your market. Who is it you want to target with your product and services. Once you are VERY clear about that, implement the plan so that your target market knows who you are and the product and service you are offering.

What are your metrics to determine the success of your plan? And what do you do with the information you glean from your metrics? How you answer these questions along with the plan are the basis of your marketing strategy.
