The B5Media network:

Inflation

You know when the US government measures inflation they always take out “food and fuel”.  I always thought that was silly, because they constitute the major portion of the consumers usual spending.  I don’t buy a house or a car every week, but you might.

Anyway, gas in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA has been hanging around the $3 level for six months or so.  That seems pretty stable.  The price of a 20 ounce late has gone up about a $0.05 in the past two weeks.  The price of the average mid-morning a bagel and a schemer is up about $0.15.  Milk is up 20 to 30 cents a gallon.  In general a twenty dollar bill buys less around here within the past two weeks.

I realize this is all un-scientific, but my feel for the general economy around here is that prices are up.  I’d be interested in knowing where you think prices are going in your neck of the woods.  Drop a comment.
