I wish you perspective and humor.
My neice is getting married on January 12th. She is 22 and the wedding thing is making her a little uptight. That is not a criticism of her or weddings. It’s just part of the process. Thank goodness she doesn’t have anything terrible to weigh the stress of this situation aganist.
I’m generally not one to look back at past events in my life. But, maybe that is what experience really is; those things in your life that when something unfortunate happens in your life you can look back and say “Well, it wasn’t as bad as … “ Some less than fortunate things have happened to my family this yea, but my wife I can look back on them all an say; It wasn’t as bad as her five battle with depression; or our seperation during Vietnam or the adoption process.
As the Baby Boom generation we should be at that point in our lives where our lives give us perspective on the events around us and we have developed a sense of humor of the things that happen to us. If you don’t have them yet, regardless of your age, I hope you find them soon.
