I refuse to admit De-Feet – Z-Coil Shoes
Ouch! That pun was about as bad as they get, but I couldn’t resist.
I found some great shoes that I wanted to tell you about. They are called Z-Coils, and they have saved me endless pain and problems with my knees. They look funny (my daughter calls them my “Tigger” shoes after Pooh’s bouncy friend Tigger), but I don’t care. When you can be out of pain and able to walk all over, who cares? I feel like the z-coils are “shock absorbers” for my feet.
The week after I got them, I went to Washington, DC and walked all over. Before the Z-coils, I would not have been able to do that. I couldn’t even walk through a large grocery store without pain.
Z-coils are sold in individual stores. You can see the locations on their website (www.zcoil.com)
No, I’m not getting paid to tell you about these shoes – no kick-backs (pardon the second pun). I don’t take money to promote products. I wanted to do this post because I figure maybe they can help you like they helped me. It’s a “Tipping Point” thing. If enough people know about them, they will have more stores and the price will come down.
Have you tried Z-Coil shoes? If so, let me know what you think.
(They also have more formal styles for work, in case you were wondering.)

You really like them? I’ve wanted to post on their franchise program. You know you could own one of the stores? I’ve heard mixed reviews. I was always worried one would malfunction and send my customer skyward. It would get labor intensive to retrieve customers from the trees and rooftops.
As you are an avid customer, we should cross-blog on their franchise program.

That’s a good idea, Sean. I really do love the shoes, but I don’t know about the franchise operations. They opened a store in my town (Davenport, Iowa) last summer. It closed recently and I had to call Peoria about a small problem (which he told me how to fix over the phone). Let me know if you do a blog and I’ll comment.

These are the Greatest shoes ever ! I have had a pair since Feruary 2007 and earthem every day to work. I am on my feet all day long and feel like I could still keep going when I go home.
I have worn Z-Coils for more than 5 years. I wouldn’t work without them! I am a nurse, and I walk all day long. I have low back and hip pain. They are the difference between me walking out of work or crawling. Yes, they look funny, but they are WONDERFUL!!!
I still love my Z-Coils. I do wish they came in some different styles. I’m getting tired of wearing the same couple of pairs of shoes all the time.
They do have sandals for summer, thank goodness.
[...] Testimonial: Last year I wrote about the benefits of Z-Coil footwear, and how it saved me a great deal of pain. This lady is obviously selling the fitflip shoes, but [...]
Seriously, this is a step in the wrong direction. Your feet have evolved over millions of years, so a shoe should make it possible to walk as if you were barefoot. Shoes should only protect from glass, stones, cold, etc. and not stabilize, cushion or absorb shocks. You have your achilles tendons and muscles for that. Walk barefoot or in minimal footwear for a while, strengthen your feet and your problems will be over.
