Baby Boomer Hillary Clinton - Secretary of State? What Say You?

The rumor on the street is that Hillary Clinton is a front-runner for U.S. Secretary of State.  Here are two conflicting opinions on this issue:

From Fox News - A “Two-Fer”  (meaning we getBill along with Hillary)
OR
From Atlantic Online “An Inspired Idea”
What do you think?

Baby Boomer Women - Stay Active to “Stay Smart” and Multitask

My best friend just got back from China.  She walked the Great Wall, up many steps, and she was able to keep up when other younger people weren’t.  She has a regular vigorous walking routine, she lifts weights, swims with a Master’s group, and does yoga.  She is in great shape! And new information shows […]

Speaking of Hair Color - Does “Going Gray” Affect Your Boomer Business?

Mary Emma Allen, over at Home Biz Notes, asks the question:  Does “Going Gray” affect your home business?
A week or so I wrote about Boomers who color their hair. Mary Emma is taking it a step further.  Does hair color affect how people look at you?  Do customers, employees look at you differently if […]

Moment of truth for baby boomers - do you die your hair?

An email exchange with other b5media business channel bloggers got me wondering - how many baby boomers die their hair?  I guess there are two schools of thought on this one:
1.  I’m proud of my age and of being who I am without benefit of artificial enhancements.  I would never die my hair.
2.  I figure […]

Why won’t Oprah interview Sarah Palin?

According to the Chicago Tribune, Oprah’s producers have said it would be better to wait until after the election for Oprah to interview Governor Sarah Palin, the Repulican vice presidential nominee.  They (the producers) say Oprah shouldn’t get involved in politics.
Two reasons why this excuse doesn’t ring true.  (1)Oprah has interviewed Democratic presidential nominee Barak […]

Who is “Caribou Barbie”? Baby Boomer Sarah Palin, of course

As I watched Governor Sarah Palin give her speech Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention, I was reminded of the Samuel Johnson quote about women preachers:
“… a woman’s preaching is like a dog’s walking on his hind legs. It is not done well; but you are surprised to find it done at all.”
I’m surprised […]

The Age Curve - How to profit from “Generational Demographics”

Yesterday I talked about The Age Curve by Baby Boomer Kenneth Gronbach.  The book’s subtitle is “How to Profit from the Coming Demographic Storm.”  The “storm” he’s talking about, I think, is the influx of baby boomers as an aging generation and its effect on many areas of economics.
Yesterday, I said Gronbach’s central premise is […]
