by Jean on June 20th, 2008

Accion International does not have direct volunteer opportunities, but they partner with VISTA. You can volunteer here.

Read more:

ACCION USA is seeking talented women and men interested in spending a year with us as AmeriCorps*VISTA Entrepreneur Corps volunteers. Working in ACCION USA’s headquarters in Boston, or in our Atlanta or Miami lending offices, VISTA volunteers will see microlending from the “front lines,” applying their skills to help expand our programs, while gaining valuable microfinance experience.

VISTA volunteers will make a one-year, full-time commitment and, in return, receive a living allowance, health care benefits, a post-service cash award of $1,200 or Education Award, student loan deferment and the satisfaction of strengthening local economies through their efforts.

Areas of concentration include community outreach, marketing, new business and product development, fundraising and management information systems (MIS).

Really interesting posts Jean. I’ll link it Volenteering is a great way to contribute. The work Accion does is so vital to communities. Banks stay away from this market, although they benefit later when these businesses are up and running.
Keep up the good work Donna
