Baby Boomers - What Kind of Internet User Are You?
Where are you on the range of Internet users? The Pew Internet and American Life Project has studied Internet users and created a user survey. They have categorized nternet users into several categories
Do you use the Internet, cell phone, and other technology frequently? If so, you are probably an “Elite Tech” (34 percent of American adults). If you use a cell phone but you don’t use the Internet much, you are probably a “Middle of the Road Tech” User (29% of American adults). And if you use cell phones and the Internet only infrequently, you are probably in the “Few Tech Assets” category (49% of American adults).
I was surprised that so many American adults are in the lowest Internet usage category, but maybe you are not. I figure if you are reading this blog you are probably in one of hte top two categories. Take the Internet Typology Test and let me know what category you are in.

I use the internet frequently for work and looking up information, but am not much a cell phone person. Only use the cell for work. I prefer to speak to people face to face. On the internet I spend most of my time at the news resource site http://www.polijam.com because it is good at finding the top news for me. Even though I stare at a computer 12 hours a day, I still fell in the range of “few tech assets” on the quiz. Go figure.

Hi Jean,
I’ve been doing some additional research on the author, Chris Flett, that I talked about on my last comment. His company is “GhostCEO” (www.GhostCEO.com) and his book is a bestseller. I found it on Amazon here. Anyway, he was in the NY Times last Sunday under the “Career Couch” and he makes reference to women’s blogs like yours so I thought you might like to connect. I’d like to see you interview him and see what he’s all about. I saw on another blog he was a guest blogger. His email is: chris@ghostceo.com
Best wishes,
Bihter.

Jonathan - Thanks for the Poljam site. It’s pretty interesting.
Bihter - I’ll check out GhostCEO and I added it to my list of resources for baby boomer women in business.
